yesterday, we were headed to the diana memorial playground in hyde park when we were stopped in our tracks by a bright cheerful carousel smack in front of the playground. we were both giddy at the sight. i mounted her on her own horse and off we went. it was a good mix of frightening and fun. i have never been on a carousel that moved SO quickly! between snapping photos of her and trying to keep my skirt out of my face, i almost slipped off my horse a handful of times! i swear this thing would not pass inspection in the states. it was quite a sight. harper loved the ride though and made horse sounds throughout.
speaking of taking photos...i had brought my nice camera along for the day and was excited to get some good shots in of our unexpected finding. so *snap snap* went my camera through half the ride. afterwards, we headed nearby to get some ice cream. while in queue, i was excited to check out the photos. i switched on my camera to find a disturbing message screaming at my face — "No Card" ! what an idiot. i had forgotten to insert my sim from the night before and had been lugging around an empty camera. i wanted to cry. luckily, being the photo-obsessed mom that i am, i had also taken some photos on my phone. hence, the grain. i do apologize, but i'm still trying to get over my stupidity of yesterday.
oh no, i hate when that happens.
ReplyDeleteyeah for iphones thought ;)
How cute!! I was so nervous you were going to say you left your camera and it got stolen. Forgotten memory card pales in comparison. And kudos to you for double-documenting. I am so terrible at that. These pictures are so adorable!
ReplyDeleteWhen you put it that way, I guess it doesn't really compare. Ha!
DeleteLove that pic of you two!
ReplyDeleteUgh. Hate when that happens. S didn't even dare ride the carousel in Brooklyn.
ReplyDeleteAnd seriously, you are so cute.
Thanks, Karim. We'll have to take the girls to ride the BK carousel when we're out there!
