street art in madrid.

it's no prado museum, but the graffiti throughout madrid is pretty cool.

a) it's everywhere! it covers every wall, corner and curb,
b) most of it is crap, but
c) some of it it really amazing. you'll be walking down a random street and then BAM
you've run into this beautiful and bright wall of art.

madrid, spain {part dos}.

{family photos are a rarity these days. we take what we can get}

{four hours later, and someone is finally getting sleepy}

{win! and the nice stranger actually knew what he was doing,
so i consider that a double win!}

madrid, spain {part uno}.

we just got home from a whirlwind trip to madrid,
and i have so many pictures to share.
like... a lot!
let's get started.

a few things to note: madrid reminded me a lot of our trip to italy with its narrow cobblestoned streets, balconies across every window, and amazing food. speaking of the food—hello carb overload! my body is just now starting to forgive me. we stuffed ourselves on croissants every morning {and evening. and any time in between...}, crepes, tapas, and most importantly churros & chocolate! every night we visited a new chocolateria to scout the city for our favorite greasy combo. mine would have to be valor. their churros were crispy and their chocolate nice and sweet. perfection in my eyes, or mouth!

churros & chocolate.

madrid is such a beautiful & magical city. we haven't even been here a full day, and i'm already sold. it is covered with narrow cobble-stoned streets open only to pedestrians. once it gets dark, the lights above each street twinkle with stars, leaves, and other glowing holiday ornaments. this city is very alive--busy & bustling with people.

first and most importantly on our to-do list was eat churros and chocolate. for those who aren't familiar, it's simple--you get a plate of freshly-made churros and cup of straight chocolate. then you dip and eat. the last step is very important: once you're done, you lick the greasy goodness off your fingers. sounds delicious right? it is.
