a weekend in the poconos.

happy friday! before this weekend hits, i'm still dreaming about our last! we spent ours in the poconos with some friends from the city. and by some i mean 16 adults and about 14 littles. it was wild! i can't even describe to you how nap time went around those parts...not to mention bedtime! our friend was turning the big 3-0 so his wife organized this whole weekend without him knowing! and with all of our big mouths, it's a miracle none of us slipped. the daytimes were spent cooking, golfing, and taking walks around the neighborhood. with the leaves changing in the mountains, we showed up at the perfect time! and after long days, we greatly welcomed bedtime for the littles so that we could stay up talking, vegging out, hot tubbing, and just enjoy one another's company. i love the life-long friendships we've made. even though we've been gone for a year, we pick right back up where we left off.

***the cutest pumpkin patch you ever did see***
***harper was so excited about her pony ride until it was go-time. then she was terrified, so daddy stayed right by her side***

***the pigs on the other hand...she loved!***

these two...we got to keep our eyes on them***

***isn't that landscape something else?***

***we're missing a few babies in the picture who were napping***

bold booties.

this season, the bootie is in. and not just any old boot. bold boots. the funkier the better. we're talking about buckles and color and intense hardware. the type of boot that you walk down the street and get noticed in. and without even trying, you can enhance even the most simple sweater/jean combo.

as you can tell, i love boots. my hubs would say it's an unhealthy obsession. i like to say it's more of a hobby. and we all need hobbies, right right? in scouring the internet for my next purchase, i've come across all of these beauties. here are my top five!

1. matisse bobbie boot ($168) in distressed gold. :: 2. nine west zummie bootie ($128). ::
3. cole haan tiffany bootie ($378). :: 4. mossimo kiriana ankle boot ($35). ::
5. asos river island chelsea boot ($75).

*worth noting: i have a boot very similar to the matisse booties {take a look}, and i can't stop wearing them. they seriously go with everything!

sweet november.

saturday, todd and i strolled through central park, enjoying all of the changing leaves. since nyc had its unexpected snow storm the day we planned to go apple picking, this unfortunately has been our extent to enjoying the fall weather. since when did life become so busy?! luckily we picked a beautiful day—the weather was perfect and the park was glowing gold.

pumpkin, spice and everything nice.

saturday night, the temperature dropped enough that we finally felt appropriate getting into the fall spirit of things. we picked up a little big pumpkin at the market and brought it home to carve. after soon realizing we didn't have any carving tools—oops! minor detail—we opted for baking delicious pumpkin cookies and stewing some apple cider on the stove top. my home smelled like heaven in the fall {because that's what heaven will smell like... in the fall... obviously} it was such a fun night baking with the hubs and rocking out to some good tunes. i love these types of memories.
