this must end.

{i've had the worst habit of getting to bed at this time}

maybe because:
  • there are too many blogs to read
  • my lucero blood pumps thick through my veins
  • i'm worried no one will show up to seminary tomorrow
  • i can't decide what to get hubs for his birthday on saturday
  • i'm planning another DIY project {that will never get finished}
  • i can't stop thinking about those delicious cupcakes to my right
enough.
goodnight, moon.

the burger battle.

It was time to play once Kylie came in town,
so we headed off to JG Melon to see what all the hype was about.

I couldn't fully argue that Shake Shack has the best burger
until I tried a JG burger, but afterward I can rest my case.
Despite what others may think (ahem, Todd & Robby), I can
honestly say the Shack Burger is. the. best.

Now who's with me!?!

This is such a beautiful spot. Just makes me want to smile.

happenings in the village.

Today was one of those days that really makes you smile, and maybe {just maybe} makes you happy that you're unemployed...maybe.

First: Woke up bright and early to meet friend Natalie in the Garment District and help hunt for trims and buttons. {oh to work in the fashion world}

Second: Might possibly have stopped at Dunkin' Donuts for breakfast with Natalie, and it might have been heavenly.

Third-Fifth: Spent the afternoon with beautiful Hera watching Ellen, reading through my Marie Claire library, and emailing into the dark abyss {aka ad agencies}

Sixth: Peeked into the window of the nearby dog shelter hoping there might be a cute puppy to bring home. Yet also hoping there wasn't, for the sake of my marriage. There wasn't. whew!

Seventh: Girls met at Cafe Habana for a delicious dinner starting with of course their Mexican-styled grilled corn.

Finally: Spent the rest of the night with my handsome husband. Cuddling was in order.

on the set of...

The Tyra Banks Show!

It was such a well... interesting experience being on the show. Once we got onto the set and into our {front row!} seats, we spent 20 minutes shooting B-roll of our reactions to different situations. For example:

"Your boyfriend is cheating on you" {GASP!}

(or as quoted by the gay man directing us)

"I have a girlfriend." {BIGGER GASP!}

From here, they can use our recorded reactions whenever...very tricky. While the topic of the episode was meh, it was fun being there. Kelsey even got chosen to shake it in front of the audience! And Tyra? She was Tyra. A diva. What do you expect?

canoeing down the delaware.

Being a seminary teacher sure has had it's perks. Saturday morning, Todd and I met up with over 100 youth in the stake and rode two buses up to the Delaware Water Gap {located on the border of New Jersey and Pennsylvania}.

After launch, we rode for an hour and a half, stopped for lunch, then paddled for another hour. The weather was overcast and cool; perfect for a day of rowing. It's now the day after and I'm sure feeling the burn!

site of launch. isn't it just beautiful!?
big smiles for making it out dry!

tribute in lights.

Today was a great day of remembrance in NYC for 9/11.
There's such a different perspective living in the City that
is truly amazing to see.

These pictures are of the "Tribute in Lights" memorial on
ground zero, as seen from our roof. Pretty cool.

rise and shout the cougars are out.

While Todd and I flew out to see my family in Dallas, we all knew the real motivation behind the visit...the BYU vs. OU football game.
And what a game it was!
Pre-game pep rally and tail-gate party
What a stadium! You could fit the Statue of Liberty upright and close the roof! Not to mention it's all glass!! {must be a lot of dizzy birds outside}
What a daunting sea of red. It would have been intimidating leaving without a win, but the OU fans were great sports. Nothing like the Utes.
Happy family. Even more happy in our cushy seats in the suite!

i'm coming...

This last week I decided to take a break from this little
blogosphere. I've been home in good 'ole Plano Texas
visiting the fam for Labor Day weekend.

Todd and I fly back to the big city at 6am tomorrow and I've got
just so much to tell you about. We've had so much fun!
Get ready for some great pics!

{Now back to the family!}

ps. GO COUGS!!!
