despite the sheer volume of visitors hubs and i have had since living here,
we hadn't yet taken the ferry to statue of liberty and ellis island.
thanks to kari and amy for giving us a swift kick in the butt and
getting us over there. being so close to the statue was quite a site--she's beautiful.
today's fact: lady lib is only 3/32in thick. equivalent to 2 pennies.
{oh, that's right...not even embarrassed to have done the audio tour.}
I am new to your blog and thought I just leave a comment...
ReplyDeleteI totaly know what you mean. Usually you don't do a lot of sight seeing in the city or area you live in but you want to see everything in a city you just visit. By the way I am a little jealous right know that you are in my favorite city of all time. I miss it a bit =) I used to live about an hour from NYC and loved spending my weekends there. Have done a lot of sight seeing with all my visitors back than =)
Great pictures by the way.
love the pics of us with the statues! too bad everyone else is probably thoroughly confused! and i'm so glad you posted the nerdiest picture of me ever! haha
ReplyDeleteOh how fun! I've always wanted to visit New York and go to Ellis Island. I hear it's very neat. And don't worry, I would do the audio tour too! :)
ReplyDeleteYou gotta do the audio tour! Otherwise you're just looking at a bunch of random old stuff, which is super boring. Believe me, I know from experience. Haha. Great pictures! I love the one with the boat and the statue in the background.
