getting wild in the wild // fossil rim.

the last few weeks have been craaaay. we've been living out of our suitcases at my parents house as we wait for our visas to be processed. so as we wait {and wait…and wait…} i've been re-living all of my favorite childhood memories with miss harps.

first on the list—fossil rim, a drive-through safari park.

this place is every child's {and adult's} dream. like seriously, when was the last time you fed a zebra? or kissed a giraffe? or stroked bambi without its mom going buck-wild on you? literally. such a neat experience, you guys! we were all so giddy. and i've officially set harper's "zoo" expectations a little too high.

***this silly zebra would open wide and beg for me to chuck pieces of food into his mouth***

***i want a pet giraffe. it's official.***

a peek into our week {or two}.

the last few weeks have been fun-filled with all our travel adventures. unfortunately todd had to stay back in london so he's not in a single photo. which is awfully sad to see. but here's what we've been up to:

// the perot science museum in dallas is absolutely amazing. so magical. and clean. AND $20/person to get into. say what?! i've gotten to use to all these free museums in london and nyc. outrageous pricing set aside, it was pretty cool.

// splash pads galore in the 'burbs. too bad this chick stood at the edge of the water the entire time!

// papa teaching harps the ways of texan cooking—anything big and red will do :)

// the last of the wedding festivities as we celebrate in dallas.

// one of my favorite museums of all time is the dallas world aquarium. it's a jungle/aquarium/zoo mix. all with a really impressive set up and a must-see if ever in dallas.

// my mom is the most kind, sweet, and gorgeous woman. seriously. i love that woman more than anything, and it meant the world that i could spend so much time with her.

// i now know where harper gets her monkey skills. it's scary.

down by the banks of the lakey lakey.

before the wedding festivities began, we got to spend the evening at the lake with friends. we were over an hour late because i can't seem to navigate the ever-changing dallas freeways, but we got there alive in one piece, and the night was heavenly! now, as my husband can attest to, i don't particularly love getting into the lake water {or any water for that matter}, but when it's warmer than my bath, it's very very doable. and seeing harper look like a little hot dog in her life vest, made it that much better. she caught her first cold on this trip, but getting in the water seemed to rejuvenate her spirits and bring back my little fishy. p.s. i can now see we all look naked in the above photo. we are not.
