carny magic.

What a fun Memorial Day we spent on Coney Island
with our friends Taylor and Craig.

We had fun over-indulging on Nathan's hot dogs,
ice cream, carny rides, and the beach.

Even though I'm still feeling the repercussions
of the head-wrenching roller coaster,
some medicated Pink Berry is doing the trick!

*Did I mention over-indulgence?

grimaldi's.

Our friend from SF, Braiden, was in town this weekend
so we decided to show him some true NY pizza!

**Grimaldi's**

Somehow we're always attracted to long lines,
but this place was definitely worth the wait.

Now, call me sheltered, but I've never had pizza with the
fatty chunks of mozzarella like this place had.
It was incredible! So fresh.

call of duty.

Fleet Week is any boy's fantasy and
girl's for that matter *single ladies, RUN over there

Once a year for a week, the US Navy, Marines, and Army
take-over NYC allowing us to board their ships,
play on their million dollar machinery,
and let the boys live out Call of Duty for just a weekend.

I couldn't help but think how fortunate we are
to live in a free country that has such advanced weaponry.

God Bless America.

arroz y habichuelas.

Let me just start out by saying... Dominican food is fabulous!!

Todd walked into El Malecon like he owned the place,
which I'm sure he did in his mish days,
ordered some rice, beans, and chicken and
devoured it just as fast as it came.

Who would have thought that simplistic of a meal
could have had so much flavor, but it did!

It's a bit of a hike to get up to The Heights,
but we're definitely going back for more!

roses are red, violets are blue.

...even Todd enjoyed the market, who knew?

We love walking through the Union Square
farmer's market on the weekends.
There are so many beautiful flowers for CHEAP!
It's amazing.

This time, we even picked up some great ones
for the baskets above my sink!

They add a tinge of color to the kitchen
and look lovely doing it.

true morning elegance.

After a lazy morning, hubs and I took a little walk
to the famous Doughnut Plant

yum. yum. yum.

That's all I can say.

Do the shake.

Since the day we got here, we'd heard so much about
Shake Shack, so we walked over to Madison Square Park
with our friends Taylor and Craig,
waited in the 45 minutes line,
and enjoyed the famous Shake Burger—with of course,
a shake to wash it down with.
Hopscotch Concrete.

*highly highly recommended*

happy anniversary sweetheart.

Todd and I just had our 2 year anniversary and
I can't believe how the time has flown!
Just a few years ago we were young, crazy college kids
falling in love in geology.
 How romantic!
*Now we're just young and crazy!*

Todd was so thoughtful and planned a harbor lights cruise
so I could get a different perspective of this new & crazy city of ours.
It was so lovely.

I am so in love with Todd and can't wait for all the adventures
that still lie ahead. How exciting!

I love you sweetie!!

mother dear i love you so.

In the spirit of Mother's Day,
I wanted to send a shout out to my mother!

She is just the most beautiful and talented woman I know.
I wrote a list of things I love about her,
but to spare embarrassment *mine and hers*,
I cannot post them. :)

But, I sure do love her!!
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY.

central park sunday.

After a weeks worth of rain, the whole city of NYC
decided to come out and play!

some played a little too hard...

it's amazing that...

So before we headed out to look for a new sofa
we decided to grab brunch at Cafe Orlin,
a cute little restaurant on St. Marks Pl.

If you go, I would highly recommend the pumpkin pancakes
drizzled with cinnamon yogurt. Yum!!

p.s. What do you think about this sofa?
I think it's just absolutely adorable!

can't get enough of this touristy stuff.

After a great friday night with some friends,
we headed to see the lights of Time Square.

They sure are purty...

crumbdidlyumcious.

After many tests and much deliberation,
I've made my decision...

Crumbs makes the most delicious cupcakes ever!!

Personally, I think red velvets are the best indicator of a great bakery.
If you can get a red velvet right, you can get anything right.

And Crumbs sure did!!

Thank you Crumbs, this is only the beginning
of our lovely little life together.

mamamama MoMA.

Fun at the MoMa.

the bronx bombers.

As I walked out of my work today Todd was waiting on the other side of the revolving doors with two tickets to the Yankees game.

Surprise!!

Before we moved to NYC, we thought long and hard about what NY team we were going to follow. And let me say, the Yankees was definitely not one of them—Todd is a die-hard Red Sox fan—but after tonight I just might have to say that I'm a fan...

Of Johnny Damon that is. *Hunka Hunka* Just kidding, but seriously....I told Todd that all I want for our anniversary in a week is a Damon jersey. He didn't seem too excited about that.
