todd's family is quite the talented bunch,

so it only seemed appropriate to showcase the talent

in a christmas day talent show. 

we had tap dancing, rhyming, magic tricks, 

singing, and storytelling.

Pancho Claus is coming to town!

hill country cooking

since i'm not going home to visit my family this christmas,

we had to make a little stop by hill country to get some good 'ol texas bbq.
{they don't call it comfort food for nothing}

i've tried a few bbq places here in the city,

but i'd have to say hill country tops the list. 

their corn bread and orange butter is boot scootin' delicious!

what our weekend consisted of...

i'd never made a pie before. not even a cream pie. 

pathetic, i know. 

but considering it's the holidays and sweaters can cover

up any calorie overhaul, hubs and i decided to change that record. 

i'm not the biggest fan of apple pies, so we opted for a mixed berry.

{reminds me of sunday dinners back at grandma's}

we made the berry mixture from scratch as well as the crust.

impressive right? i wouldn't have been able to do it though if it weren't

for kelsey's essentials. she makes pie crust, well easy as pie. 

the only ice cream we had to eat with our fresh pie

was edy's peppermint. but no lie, it was delicious together!

a christmas spectacular!

 with a little help from natalie, we were able to convince the boys

to accompany us to the christmas spectacular this year.

i had never been inside radio city music hall before, so i was blown away by how
massive and grandeur the building was. it was so beautiful.

i felt under dressed just being inside.

once we got settled into our seats, and the show began i was amazed again
with the overall production of the show.

the talent was great,

the sets were elaborate {live camels for crying out loud},

and the christmas message was a breath of fresh air.

i can't imagine any better way of kicking off the christmas season

then with a little holiday cheer!

i'm on a holiday high!!

as many times as i have without ever stopping. 

i have since vowed to never walk by without stuffing my face again.
