blossoms in central park.

i don't know how it happened,  but last weekend i was able to convince hubs to head up to central park for a little family photoshoot. it was going to be our first official family photoshoot with harper, and i couldn't pass up the opportunity {and i wasn't about to let him pass it up for us!}

the photographer had us meet her at this ah-mazing location in the park just north of the reservoir. here, there were rows and rows and ROWS of cherry blossom trees, all lining a little hidden dirt path. what a gem of a spot that i never knew about!

after the shoot ended, i wasn't ready to leave, so we plopped down a blanket, had my brother and his girlfriend meet us with some levain cookies, and stayed in the park until the chill of the evening breeze picked up. i'm going to be so sad once these blossoms go away— not only do they make the city look so much more beautiful, but where will harper wear her cherry blossom romper??

we come out when the blossoms do.

harps and i got lucky last week when todd came home and surprised us during lunchtime. since the weather was so perfect, we packed up lunch {aka shake shack} and headed to battery park to take a stroll along the hudson river.

while i was a little bummed that we couldn't get to dc this year for the cherry blossom festival like last {here. and here.}, i feel like new york is having their on cherry blossom festival. the blossoms are big, beautiful, bright, and just about everywhere! ah, i love new york in the spring!!

traipsing around with my love on a beautiful easter afternoon.

one of the top activities on my "i miss east village list" was the walks hubs and i would take around our neighborhood. there is such a cool culture up there, and i was really bummed about giving that up with our move to fidi {that's right. 'fidi'}. as todd and i have been noticing though, we live in a pretty cool area. just one block north of us is city hall and there are so many beautiful buildings there. the architecture is just incredible and the grounds are beautiful and well kept. i felt like i was back in dc or boston! it also didn't hurt that it was a lovely 75 degrees out—good weather always makes things more enjoyable.  well spring finally sprung, and on quite the appropriate day, wouldn't you say?

happy 1st year post!

{the different seasons in central park}

i can't believe i've had my blog a whole year!!

i thought i would post once and be done, but it's been such a great journal
for hubs and i as we've experienced the big bad city!
i've especially appreciated all your sweet comments on my rants and rambles.

here are few of my favorite memories:

macy's annual flower show.

although crowded beyond belief, macy's has quite
the spring spectacular transforming the store into a floral utopia.

literally millions and millions of flowers are lavishly
displayed in the windows and on the floor, and it is just amazing!
{not to mention the scent!! yum}

if you haven't had a chance to check it out,
you've got until april 11.

spring has arrived, my friends.

spring goodies.

spring doesn't just bring blossoms...it brings sales.
and lots of 'em!
i saw all these little gems at the steve madden sale on sunday.
hubs understood just how cute they were {and just where i hid them},
and went back today and got them for me!
isn't he a doll?

welcome spring.

march 1st is finally here!

now, i'm just waiting for the warm weather to follow
shortly after. i feel like i've been a hermit all winter--not wanting to brave
the cold weather outside. such a bummer.

once the warm weather hits, i'm really looking forward to sundays in the park,
long walks around the city, and finally pulling my cute spring clothes out of hiding.

i love spring.

and i welcome you with wide open arms!!

 {now please hurry. thank you.}
